January is shaping up to be a battle of the unit groups.

Following in the news of the return of SISTAR’s unit group, SISTAR19 in January, idol groups 4minute and Infinite have also announced spin-off groups that will hit the stage next month.

4minute will see the debut of its first unit group in January comprised of members Heo Ga Yoon and Jeon Ji Yoon. Nicknamed, ‘Double Yoon’, the new unit group will look to differentiate itself from 4minute with the synergy of Heo Ga Yoon’s rap and Jeon Ji Yoon’s husky voice.


The group’s agency already achieved mega success with its 4minute Hyuna and B2ST Jang Hyun Seung unit, Trouble Maker in the past, and the agency is looking to continue its streak with the new 4minute unit.


Infinite’s hip hop unit group, Infinite H, will also release a single in January.

Comprised of members Dong Woo and Hoya, the unit will aim to shed Infinite’s idol feel and sound to become a true hip hop unit.


Aided by skilled producer, Primary, Dong Woo and Hoya will aspire to establish themselves as true hip hop musicians.

For Double Yoon, Infinite H and SISTAR19, the cutthroat competition won’t only come from each other but a slew of other top acts who are also making their return in January including SNSD (Girls′ Generation), Baek Ji Young, CN Blue and more.
